VITARGO! contains Vitargo®, a proprietary high molecular weight carbohydrate with a mean molecular weight of 500,000-700,000. It is unique in that it is specially processed to produce a molecular profile that is totally different from sugars (eg glucose, fructose) and maltodextrin found in many products. The molecular weight of maltodextrin is about 1,000-10,000 and that of dextrose is about 180.

Science has generally accepted that prolonged submaximal exercise is limited by the availability of muscle and liver glycogen stores and that these stores are increased by ingesting large amounts of carbohydrate. It has also been shown that the rate of synthesis of glycogen (carbohydrates stored in the body) is higher in those muscles in which glycogen stores have been depleted by exercise.

The rate of glycogen synthesis after exercise is important for athletes during training sessions with periods of heavy submaximal repetitions of exercise, as well as during competition, particularly when performing various periods of intense exercise.

The synthesis of muscle glycogen from ingested carbohydrates depends on the transport of glucose across the intestinal mucosa and muscle cell membrane and on the enzymes responsible for glycogen synthesis and phosphorylation.

Blood glucose concentrations are influenced by the flow of glucose from the stomach, through the intestine, and into the blood. It has been shown that the osmolality of an ingested solution can interfere with the emptying rate of the stomach. Thus, a high osmolality can delay gastric emptying which could delay the release of glucose from the intestine. With Vitargo® you can make a drink with a very low osmolality but with a lot of carbohydrates.

How to use:

Dilute one dose (30 g) in 400 ml of water. Take one dose a day, before, during and/or after training to meet your energy needs.
