Luis Garcés Mantiña, the creator of the VARON DANDY brand, was born in Valencia in 1920, into a noble family. He invented the parted hairstyle at the age of 17, during the Civil War, to distinguish the fascists during bar nights, attended by soldiers from both sides. His popular aftershave appeared in 1943, during the harsh Spanish post-war period.
