William Jordan was born in 1809 and grew up the youngest of 12 children. Immediately after graduating from school, he moved to Germany and learned the trade as a toothbrush maker. He started working in factories until he decided to open his own brush shop. After dedicating his entire life to the brush company, he died at the age of 70. His eldest son, Fredrik William Jordan, decided to innovate and take the brush business further. After experimenting with techniques, materials and models, generation after generation the company remained firm and pioneering. It was not until 1927 that the famous toothbrushes known worldwide today were introduced to the market.
