Jil Sander

JIL SANDER from Germany graduated in Textile Engineering in 1963 and spent two years in California as an exchange student at the University of Los Angeles. Before opening her first store in a neighborhood in Germany in 1967, she worked as an editor at the fashion magazine Petra. In her store she sold designs by Thierry Mugler and Sonia Rykiel and occasionally some of her own designs. She was known for creating the "onion look", which consisted of wearing several layers of clothing together. In 1978 he launched his first Jil Sander perfume on the market.
