JEAN LOUIS SCHERRER began his career in the world of fashion with Christian Dior. Soon after, he also worked with Yves Saint Laurent and Louis Feraud. In 1962 he decided to try his luck on his own and founded his own haute couture house. Ten years later he designed his first Prêt-à-Porter collection and in 1979 he released his first JL Scherrer perfume.
