HMB , Beta-Hydroxy-Beta-Methylbutyrate , is a metabolite of the essential branched-chain amino acid leucine and is synthesized in the human body, producing between 0.2-0.4 grams per day. The standard dose used in research studies has been about 3 grams per day. L-leucine itself is becoming an increasingly popular ingredient and also a great amino acid for bodybuilders.
