What is Life Pro Saw Palmetto?

Saw palmetto is a species of dwarf palm that belongs to the genus Serenoa . It is native to the SE United States and is known by several names: Serenoa Repens, Saw Palmetto, Sabal Serrulatum, or Dwarf Palm.

The fruits of this plant are rich in fatty acids and phytosterols , and the extract of the Serenoa Repens fruits is used successfully in the treatment of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia).

Benign prostatic hyperplasia is an enlarged prostate, characterized by poor urinary flow and the need to urinate frequently (especially at night). This condition affects men, occurs with age, and is not due to cancer.

Complications of benign prostatic hyperplasia include: urinary tract infections, acute urinary retention, kidney infections, and kidney stones. When the inability to empty the bladder becomes a serious problem, surgical treatment is absolutely necessary.
