What is IODINE 300 60 VegeCaps?

Iodine 300 , from Vitobest® , is a 100% natural food supplement, composed of 300 mg of dry extract of fucus seaweed that provides 300 µg of iodine per dose.

Iodine is a trace element that is naturally present in many foods. It is an essential component of the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Thyroid hormones are extremely important, since they regulate important physiological and biochemical functions, such as protein synthesis and enzymatic activity, and are of vital importance and determinants in metabolic activity ^1,2 . They are also necessary for healthy bones and the development of the nervous system ¹ .

Thyroid function is mainly regulated by thyrotropin hormone (TSH), and it is secreted by the pituitary gland. TSH secretion increases iodine uptake by the thyroid and stimulates the synthesis and release of T3 and T4. Iodine deficiency causes TSH levels to remain high and with a high possibility of producing goiter, a pathology that enlarges the thyroid and reduces the iodine assimilation capacity, greatly affecting thyroid function and health.
