Xylitol is a natural sweetener, a sugar alcohol, typically coming from birch. It has the same sweetening power as sugar, but its glycemic index (GI) and caloric content are lower, which is why it is used as a sugar substitute. It is an ingredient that is also used for sugar-free gum. BioTechUSA's Xylitol powder contains only xylitol.
