Vitamin D3 -K2 Scientific Nutrition 60 pearls contains vitamin D3 (2000UI) and K2 (100ug). Vitamin D3, which is fat-soluble, can be found in some foods and is produced by the body when the skin is exposed to sunlight.

Vitamin D favors the absorption of calcium in the kidneys and the intestine helping bone formation. Vitamin D deficiency is the leading cause of rickets (poor bone mineralization in children) and osteomalacia (inadequate bone mineralization in adults).

Vitamin D3 is indicated to prevent and treat vitamin D deficiency due to lack of intake, lack of exposure to sunlight or impaired intestinal absorption of fats; in adults, adolescents and children with an identified risk of vitamin D deficiency.

It can also be used as an adjunct in the prevention and treatment of bone loss (osteoporosis) in patients with inadequate intake of vitamin D and/or calcium.
