Strengthens the defenses, and detoxifies the body. Glutamine is a very abundant amino acid in muscle tissue and in the blood.

Zinc is a micronutrient related to many functions, among others, with the immune system and with the antioxidant activity of the organism.

Under resting conditions, glutamine is used for the elimination of ammonia (a residual product of metabolism that is very toxic to the body), for the maintenance of our defenses and also for the proper functioning of the intestine, which, in addition to helping us prevent infections. , facilitates the good absorption of the nutrients contained in the food we eat daily.

However, during states where there is protein destruction (infections, surgery, trauma, etc.) and, above all, during high-intensity and long-lasting sports efforts, glutamine is also used to detoxify the body of the toxic metabolites produced by the destruction of our own proteins (what is known as protein catabolism), which occurs mainly when muscle glycogen stores that are used as energy sources decrease.

During these prolonged and/or high-intensity efforts, glutamine blood levels increase considerably, to subsequently suffer significant drops during the recovery period, taking several hours or days to recover the levels existing before exercise. This leads to the so-called overtraining syndrome, which, among other things, causes a decrease in the activity of the immune system.

How to use :
