In 1938, Swiss chemistry student Franz Greiter suffered sunstroke and skin burns while climbing the Piz Buin mountain in the Alps. This made him think that there was nothing on the market that would protect the skin from the sun and after years of research, he created, in 1946, the first sunscreen that would bear the name of the mountain. In 1975 he presented the waterproof sunscreen. Today it is a leader in the sun care sector with its Piz Buin sun exposure and post-exposure products.
